United Healthcare Medicare Advantage Plans to Exclude Door County Medical Center from Network in 2026

United Healthcare Medicare Advantage Plans to Exclude Door County Medical Center from Network in 2026

Effective January 1, 2026, DCMC will no longer be considered an in-network provider for United Healthcare Medicare Advantage plans. Please note this does not affect supplemental plans.

This change follows United Healthcare's decision to modify its Medicare Advantage network, which includes the removal of DCMC. While DCMC made efforts to remain within the network, United Healthcare has finalized its decision—an outcome we find deeply disappointing.

DCMC will continue to be in-network for United Healthcare Medicare Advantage plans through December 31, 2025. Emergency services (as defined by UHC) provided at DCMC facilities will remain covered under these plans, regardless of network status. Participants are encouraged to review what UHC defines as emergent healthcare conditions.

Community members should evaluate their health insurance options during the Medicare open enrollment period, which runs from October 15 through December 7, 2025. For assistance in identifying Medicare Advantage plans that include DCMC in their network, please contact our Patient Financial Services team at 920-746-3502 (option 3) or email DCMC_PFS@dcmedical.org.

As a Medicare 5-star rated hospital, DCMC remains committed to delivering high-quality care and maintaining strong connections within the community. We appreciate the continued trust and support of our patients and neighbors.
